Nobuhiro Watsuki, creator of Rurouni Kenshin, wrote and drew Buso Renkin with his wife Kaoru Kurosaki. Buso Renkin ran for 80 chapters in Weekly Shnen Jump from 2003 to 2005. Shueisha published 10 tankbon volumes between January 5, 2004 and April 4, 2006. Viz Media licensed the show for North America. The manga was turned into a 26-episode animation by Xebec. The series premiered on Funimation on April 27, 2009. The series has two drama CDs, two light novels, and a PS2 game.
