Now in her twenties, Anne returns to Avonlea for the first time since the death of Marilla Cuthbert. Gilbert was offered a position and he persuades Anne to come together with him. He arranges a position for her at a publishing house. Major city life isn't exactly what they expected. A dashing American writer steals anne's manuscript. So the stage is set for a final three hour installation at the"Anne of Green Gables" narrative which follows the characters in the New York, the war campaign in Europe and ultimately returns them to the red earth of Prince Edward Island.
