Angela, who is ten years old, puts her six-year-old sister, Ellie, through different "purification" rituals so that they can get rid of their evil, which Angela thinks is making their mother crazy. Angela is, to say the least, ahead of her time. She sees Lucifer coming to take her and her sister away, and she tells them to stay in a circle of their dolls and toys until they see a vision of the Virgin Mary. But she can only end up in a way that makes sense for how she is thinking.
