One dawn, California wakes up to discover that one-fifth of its own populace -- the third that is Hispanic -- has disappeared. An odd pink shadow envelops their nation, and communication outside its boundaries is completely cut off. The economical, political and societal implications of this disaster threaten California's way of life, also for a group of disparate people (all white, with the exception of just one Latina), the cracks in their private lives are driven wide open.
