Based on the Richard Speck murders. After his eccentric behavior ends in rejection from countless ladies, Warren Stacy begins murdering women, always while he's naked, which minimizes any physiological signs. Detective Leo Kessler is convinced about the remorse and, over the understanding of his partner, plants of Stacy signs to get him behind bars. When Stacy is published on a technicality, he threatens to proceed after his family along with Kessler, leaving Kessler to shield himself together with very little assistance.
